The specs are quite impressive for a video card in its price range. This card is boosted (overclocked) by EVGA and has a pretty high clock speed right out of the box. The 2GB of DDR5 memory at 192bits is also very solid. Overall, the specs seem great, but let’s see how it performs in real world situations.
EVGA Geforce GTX 650 Ti SuperClocked Benchmarks and Tests
The first test was Battlefield 3. This is probably the most video card intensive game on my list of test games. I ran this test on Ultra settings. Even at ultra settings, I was still getting frame rates (FPS) close to 50 at 1920×1080 resolution. When I reduced the resolution a bit, I was easily getting close to 70 frames per second. The gaming experience felt smooth and overall, I was impressed how this card handled the game at ultra settings. Next, I tested this game in Starcraft 2, CS:GO, and COD: Black Ops 2. To sum up these tests, this card had no trouble running these games at high settings. The frame rates in all of these games were quite high and I never noticed any stuttering or FPS lag. This comes as no surprise since it handled BF3 well, which is a much more video card intensive game.
Additional Notes
One more thing I wanted to add is that this card comes out of the box already overclocked. However, if you are an overclocker, this card still comes with more room for improvement along these lines. This can boost its performance even more. Also, I didn’t get the chance to personally test this, but others have noted that this card uses more power than other cards in its price range if this concerns you.
Wrap Up
I would give this card a 9/10 based on its awesome performance for price. This card is a top card, if not THE top card in its price range. If you are looking for a card under $200, then you can’t go wrong with this one.
