Microsoft Surface Tablet Review

I had a chance to do some research and play around with a Microsoft Surface tablet. The Surface tablet is the newest tablet from Microsoft. It is a little bit bigger than an iPad, uses the Windows RT OS, and offers a snap on keyboard.

Surface Specs

As I noted above, the surface is about the same size as an iPad. It is 10.81 x 6.77 x 0.37in and weighs in at 1.5 pounds. The screen itself is 10.6″ and the resolution goes up to 1366x768px. It employs a quad-core NVIDIA CPU and comes with 2GB of Ram. When it comes to storage, there are 2 options: 32GB and 64GB. It has 2 cameras, one on the front and one on the back. It also has a number of input ports. It has a Full-size USB 2.0, microSDXC card slot, a Headset jack, a HD video out port, and a Cover port. read more

Diagnosing a Computer Crash

A Computer crash is not something that is fun to deal with. To make it even worse, a computer may be crashing for multiple reasons such as bad hardware, software, or even a virus. Let’s take a look at a few ways to diagnose a computer crash.

Use the Error Message on Blue Screen

If you are lucky enough to get an error message for why your computer is crashing, I would recommend searching Google for an answer to your specific problem. Chances are, someone else has had the same problem and found a way to fix the issue. If you’re a small business experiencing a technical issue that requires a quick resolution, getting in touch with experienced it support may be the best strategy. read more

COD: Black Ops II for PC Review

When I am not writing code or fixing PC issues, I will play the occasional PC game. I have long been a fan of the call of duty series. Besides the recent Modern Warfare 3, I have pretty much enjoyed all the COD games I have played. I recently picked up Call of Duty: Black Ops II for PC and figured I would give it a review.

Graphics

I thought the graphics for this game were pretty good. However, I thought that they would have been a bit better. I own battlefield 3, which came out well over a year ago, and and the graphics for BF3 are better than this game. I was hoping that Black Ops 2 would set a new standard in game visuals. In fact I started playing Call of Duty Zombies on Black Ops II to see how that was, and it was incredible. I actually found a site online which gave me all the tips and tricks to get through as many rounds as possible. Like whether a perk improves your guns or quickens your reload time (I would definitely try this as the zombies get faster and more violent in higher rounds!), and how to get constant access to the mystery box. read more

The New Laptop / Tablet Convertible Computers

One new trend in the Computer world is the new laptop / tablet convertible computers. If you aren’t familiar with this new trend, the laptop / tablet convertible is essentially a full functioning laptop that has a touchscreen and an ability to fold so you can hide the keyboard. I wanted to take a look at this overall new technology and see how these new laptop tablets stack up to a traditional laptop.

At this point in time, most major laptop manufacturers have jumped on this laptop/tablet convertible bandwagon. Dell has the XPS 12 Convertible, Asus has the Taichi, Sony has the Vaio Hybrid Convertible, and so on. The different convertibles have their differences, but the overall concept is the same. read more

5 Awesome Android Apps

Not too long ago, I finally ditched my Blackberry for an Android. I decided to go with the Motorola Razr. I don’t want to get too far off-topic, but the Razr was a huge improvement over my old Blackberry. The only thing I liked better about the Blackberry was its long battery life. However, I like everything else about the Razr better. One of the reasons I really like my Android is the apps. With the potential assistance from Android App Development Services, they have become very efficient and easy to use. Here are a few of my favorites. read more
