Cut Back on the Number of Programs/Services that Auto-Start

If you have had your computer for awhile, there is a good chance that you have installed a ton of programs and services that are now auto-starting when Windows starts. One quick way to improve your boot times is to stop these programs and services from automatically starting. I am sure you can find quite a few programs that you just don’t use all the time. You can use MSConfig to disable these programs and services. To access MSConfig, simply click the start button and type “MSconfig” into the search box and click enter. Computer Black Screen Problem

I often help friends and family when they have PC problems. Recently, I ran into a problem with a computer black screen. A computer black screen can be a pretty intimidating issue to tackle. However, there are definitely a few things you can do to diagnose the problem. Let’s take a look at a few things you can try to do to either fix or at least diagnose this problem.

First, you need to determine if the computer is at least booting up. If it is not, then a hardware issue is likely the culprit. When you boot the computer, do you see the BIOS? Are you able to get into Windows at all before it crashes? If the computer is not booting up at all, you may get a sequence of beeps. If so, these beep codes can give you a good idea of what the problem is.  You can simply search Google for the number of beeps you are hearing and your computer type and you should find some results. read more
